The Russell Group Announces New Hires
The Russell Group is pleased to announce that Kate Thompson and Morgan Orem have joined the firm as Legislative Assistants. Kate and Morgan will be responsible for overseeing legislative and regulatory issues and developing policy communications for The Russell Group’s family of clients.
Kate was raised in Davis, California. She grew up on her family’s horse ranch where she rode horses competitively and raised livestock for her local 4-H and FFA chapters. She graduated last year from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communication and Business. Kate previously worked as a policy assistant for the American Farm Bureau Federation and interned for two summers with H.M. Clause’s Research and Development team.
Morgan grew up in Eastern Oregon on a wheat, hay, and cattle ranch. She attended Oregon State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science. She completed an internship with the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, and will graduate next month with her Master of Science in Agricultural Communications from Texas A&M University. As a graduate student, she works with agricultural producers to research and understand their attitudes towards conservation practices, and education and communication preferences.
“While Kate and Morgan bring unique experiences and backgrounds to our firm, they both share a deep passion for agriculture and rural America. These qualities will help The Russell Group continue to provide the highest level of service to our clients,” said Chief of Staff Allyson Alvaré.
